We are looking for singers who have more than just a good voice. We want performers with:

• Reliability and commitment
• A genuine desire to compete
• Willingness to share their VOCALMATCH journey with their audience and community

You do not need to already be a professional singer or have a large social following.

The performance matters. The personality matters. The story matters.

Your performance will be based on RIDE YOUR WAVE. VOCALMATCH provides the approved song materials for your submission, including the available original recording, instrumental/backing track, and lyrics. You’ll find them on the submission page.

Listen to the original to understand the song, then make the performance your own. Bring your own:

• Vocal style
• Emotion
• Energy
• Phrasing
• Interpretation
• Performance personality

We want to hear your version, not an imitation of another singer.

Record a video of yourself performing Ride Your Wave. You do not need an expensive studio setup. A strong performance recorded clearly on a modern smartphone can be enough. For the best result:

• Record somewhere quiet.
• Make sure your face is clearly visible.
• Use good lighting.
• Keep the camera stable.
• Make sure your voice can be heard clearly.
• Avoid excessive background noise.
• Do not use heavy effects that hide your natural voice.
• Perform with confidence and personality.
• Where possible, record vertically or in a format suitable for online and social media use.

Upload limits: MP4, MOV or WebM, up to 100 MB. If your file is too big, record at 1080p rather than 4K.

Press SING IT YOUR WAY on this page, or open the current Centerstage Song, Ride Your Wave, on the VOCALMATCH homepage. Create or sign in to your account and upload your performance.

Your submission will not automatically appear publicly. Every new performance is reviewed by the VOCALMATCH team first.

Your submission begins in PENDING REVIEW. If approved, your performance can appear in the Singer’s Box, where visitors discover approved VOCALMATCH singers and performances.

Being approved for the Singer’s Box does not automatically guarantee a place in the Arena. The strongest suitable performers may be shortlisted for Arena consideration.

The Arena is where the competition happens. For the first VOCALMATCH battle: FINALIST 1 VS FINALIST 2. Two selected singers perform the same song. The audience watches the performances and votes.

The winner of the first battle earns the Crown and becomes VOCALMATCH’s first Official Voice. But winning the Crown is only the beginning.

The winner of Battle #1 must be prepared to return for the next battle. Battle #2 becomes OFFICIAL VOICE VS CHALLENGER: a new Challenger enters the Arena and attempts to take the Crown.

If you are selected as one of the opening finalists, you must be willing and available to take part in the following battle if you win.

The Voice can be taken at any time.

VOCALMATCH is not only about singers. It is also about the audience. If you are selected for promotion or an Arena battle, we encourage you to invite your:

The VOCALMATCH Crown represents more than winning an online vote. It is built around:

Fly to Canada.
Record the song.
Release it to the world.
Share in its success.

The Crown Winner recording is intended to be professionally produced with VOCALMATCH Musical Director Michael Hanson: producer, arranger, Grammy-nominated musician, five-time JUNO Award winner, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, and original member of Glass Tiger.

Specific eligibility, travel, recording, release, revenue-sharing, and other applicable terms are governed by the official VOCALMATCH competition terms. Do not make travel arrangements or incur expenses unless VOCALMATCH has formally confirmed your participation and provided the applicable instructions.

• Submitting a performance does not guarantee selection for the Singer’s Box or Arena.
• Singer’s Box approval does not guarantee selection for an Arena battle.
• Arena singers are selected from suitable approved performers based on performance quality, personality, story, reliability, competition fit, and other relevant considerations.
• If selected for the Arena, you must be available for the agreed battle schedule and promotional activities.
• Do not publicly announce yourself as an Arena Finalist, Challenger, Official Voice, or Crown Winner until VOCALMATCH has officially confirmed it.
• Any additional prizes, including a possible cash prize, apply only if formally announced and confirmed by VOCALMATCH.
